The oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) is native to Northern Europe. The spawn we sell is productive and is a so-called "whole year species" which produces mushrooms in Spring and Autumn but also in Summer if heavy rain follows a dry period or if the temperature drops suddenly. The oyster mushroom is easy to grow on logs or straw.
In addition to the "standard" oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) we also sell spawn for the blue, golden and pink oyster mushrooms. These other Pleurotus species can also be grown on logs or straw in the same way.
