Elm oyster mushroom

The elm oyster mushroom (Hypsizygus ulmarius) is very similar to the oyster mushroom and also forms layers of mushrooms with very large fruiting bodies which grow out of the sides of the log. However, compared to the oyster mushroom it is significantly lighter in colour and nearly cream. It grows into the wood very quickly after inoculating. If the summer is not too dry you can have multiple harvests of elm oyster mushrooms from May to September at short intervals. For the reason, it is particularly recommended for beginners to mushroom growing. The elm oyster mushroom can be prepared for eating just like the oyster mushroom.
